Repulse Bay March 2

I arrived in the traditional little village of Repulse Bay this afternoon, situated directly on the dividing line for the Arctic Circle. The people here are so gracious and, although the weather was extremely cold, their loving welcome warmed my heart. The service tonight was held in their present church. Several years ago, through the generosity of our partners, they built an addition onto the building. It seemed so much larger than the original facility at the time, but they have once again outgrown it. The congregation, as well as other arctic churches, gave sacrificially to purchase the materials for a new building and had it shipped here. The lot is ready and the pilons are in, and now the material for the inside of the building must be purchased and shipped up so they can have this new facility ready to worship in this year. I would really like to see people in the “south” respond and help with this very important and needy project. It will cost about $100,000 to finish everything. Please pray and believe with us and them for a miracle!

Tonight’s service was so good! Some of the leaders from Coral Harbour flew to Repulse Bay with me to host the service, lead worship and interpret. Rosemary, the pastor from Rankin Inlet, also came for the meetings and her testimony sparked something fresh in the place as well.

It blessed me to see how passionately the people responded to the Word as I preached. Many were touched in their body, spirit and soul as the Glory of God permeated the place. It was a great beginning for our visit here. The people are so happy! We have services tomorrow morning and evening, and on Monday night, Luke will be ministering as we believe for the youth of this community to be ignited with the fire of God!
