Swan River, MB

The Ottawa region and Manitoba are considered the two most influential Canadian wells of revival to spring out of the famous Azusa Street Outpouring of the early 1900’s.  These revivals established the foundation of the Pentecostal/Charismatic movement in our nation. On June 21st, the first day of summer, we traveled to Swan River, MB, where we launched what we have declared as “A Summer of Miracles”.

This little town’s location is significant to us for two reasons: it is within the region of that early outpouring, and it is where Gwen Prankard’s late uncle, Clarence Walker, pioneered the town’s Pentecostal Church.  We counted it a privilege to visit this area, and to re-dig the well of revival started so many years ago.

The weekend began at campgrounds just outside of Swan River, across the Saskatchewan border. The campmeeting was sponsored by Solid Rock Community Church.  A fresh river of supernatural power flowed and many testified of healing. One woman who received her healing shared her story with tears of joy the following morning.  She said she had suffered from back pain for years due to a disintegrated disc.  Her doctor had told her she’d have to live with the pain and limitation for the rest of her life.   Since her healing, she had started doing many things that she'd previously been incapable of and was completely pain free.

On Saturday evening, after Bill shared his heart for Canada, our host, Pastor Ray Hart, felt to call the young people forward, and I had the privilege of leading the congregation in praying for this new generation of leaders. I believe that as I laid hands on them, there was an impartation of boldness to carry a message of righteousness for Canada. It's amazing to see young leaders like myself rising up and serving shoulder-to-shoulder with the seasoned veterans in the faith. As generations walk together we will see Canada changed!

Sunday morning we took time to pray for every single person there and to believe for a fresh impartation for them. Many people were visibly touched by the power of God. One of the highlights was praying for a man from Germany. He had been working there but is now on his way back to Germany. Although he had been to church often, in that service he felt the tangible presence of God for the first time, and he gave his heart to the Lord. As he returns to his nation, he carries living water from the well of revival he received in Canada!

On Sunday and Monday evenings we ministered in the Swan River Pentecostal Tabernacle, the church where Gwen’s uncle, Clarence Walker, was the Pastor in the 1930’s.  We took time to honour him and his late brother, Peter Walker, and all the men and women who were early Pentecostal pioneers in central Canada.  These men and others made huge sacrifices to bring the full gospel message to the area.

On Monday night, as Bill shared his testimony of encountering Holy Spirit and how God launched him into miracle ministry that continues today, a powerful anointing for healing descended.  A woman's ankles were healed and full range of motion was restored; a man was healed from migraine headache; another woman was set free from a pounding sound in her ears.

I’m sure those early pioneers would have been overjoyed to see the altar of that tabernacle filled on Monday night as so many testified of God's healing power.  As a result of this amazing weekend, a fresh outpouring of living water is flowing from the wells that they dug nearly a century ago!
