Israel - Day 10

Today we entered Jerusalem. We arrived at the Mount of Olives and then walked down to the Garden of Gethsemane. From there we went to the house of Caiaphas. It was a moving morning. More than one of us wept in the garden where Jesus had interceded and agonized over His fate on the cross. To think of the price He paid and everything He did for us is just amazing. He places such a high value on us. He places such a high value on you!

This afternoon I sat thinking about all that Jesus has done in my life. The pit in Caiaphas’ house is the same pit where Jesus spent the night before His trial. Seeing that pit gave me a whole new perspective on what He endured and I began to see my own testimony in a new light.

O Lord my God, I cried out to You,
And You healed me.
O Lord, You brought my soul up from the grave;
You have kept me alive, that I should not go down to the pit.

(Psalm 30:2-3)

Once you were dead because of your disobedience and your many sins.
 But God is so rich in mercy, and he loved us so much, that even though we were dead because of our sins, he gave us life when he raised Christ from the dead.

(Ephesians 2:1; 4-5)

When I was on my bathroom floor, about to die in the midst of a suicide attempt I cried out to God and He healed me. He brought my soul up from the grave. He kept me out of the pit and raised me to new life in Christ! I can picture Jesus, spending that night in the pit, knowing He was about to give His life. He did this to spare me from the pit of death. He did it so I could live. It’s overwhelming. He loves you that much. The rational mind can’t even comprehend this selfless act of love. It’s crazy! Yet He gladly did it, knowing it was the only way to ransom you and me. He so wanted to have us spend eternity with Him that He didn’t care how high the cost was. It blows me away.

This evening Bill and I had the opportunity to join Marcus and Joni Lamb on Daystar TV, which broadcasts in 180 different countries including all over Israel. We had the chance to share a bit about the ministry and what God is doing and then to minister to the viewers. They have an amazing studio that overlooks Mount Zion here in Jerusalem and provided a gorgeous backdrop for our segments. We heard from lots of people watching from Canada and we’re excited that Daystar will be moving into our nation. We are called to take dominion and that includes in the realm of media. The body of Christ in Canada must have a strong voice on television. It’s such a powerful tool both for communicating to the nation and uniting the body across Canada. It’s great to see the heart of Marcus and Joni and their desire to bless and strengthen Canada. If you missed it the program will be up on their website (http://www.daystar.com/) soon and can be streamed today (August 1st) there at 9pm EST and then 1am EST or viewed on Grace TV at those same times.
