Alberta Shall Be Saved!

After a very busy but amazing weekend in Edmonton, AB, my heart is encouraged as I believe God for a mighty spiritual awakening in the land.  We began with a powerful healing revival service at Abundant Life Ministries, a dynamic body of believers led by Pastor Eve Bassett. Many people testified of God’s healing touch in their bodies.  As I shared the challenges facing our nation today, I reminded them that God has given us, as believers, His anointing and His commission to make a difference as His Spirit flows through us.

Once again, I was privileged to conduct a Healing School on Saturday morning, and as I prayed for the Holy Spirit’s anointing to be released, many received. God is continuing to raise up ordinary believers who dare to walk in the power of the Spirit, and to demonstrate His miracle-working power to their friends and neighbours.

Saturday evening was a particular highlight for me, as I ministered to hundreds of young adults at Resurgence.  Resurgence is a movement of passionate young people, led by a dynamic young Canadian evangelist, Travis Holownia.  I challenged them, that as the rising generation, they have a responsibility to stand on guard for righteousness in their city, province and nation in spite of the pressures of this age.  I reminded them of the disheartening news reports of young people committing suicide in the Arctic and in northern Aboriginal communities across Canada, and encouraged them that they could be agents of change through prayer and action.  I was overwhelmed by the huge numbers that responded to a very hard altar call, when I asked these young adults who would be willing to give their lives for Canada and the north.

Travis and our Missions Director, Steven Carleton are leaving this week for Cross Lake, MB, where several young people attempted suicide recently.  Through the generosity of Crossroads television ministry, the expenses have already been taken care of.  Although it is partially a fact-finding mission, Travis and Steven will be ministering to the young people of this hurting community as the Lord leads them.  After the Resurgence meeting on Saturday, Travis commented that he would like to follow up this initial mission by taking a team from Edmonton to begin building relationships with the young people of Cross Lake, and to show them that God has hope and purpose for each of them.  We must see the curse of suicide eradicated in the north!

Steven Carleton’s wife Becky received an encouraging message from a friend who attended the Resurgence meeting saying: “On Saturday night Bill Prankard spoke at Resurgence here in Edmonton and he talked a lot about you and your husband. It was so rad to hear about what you all have been up to! His message was so good and I think it turned out to be rather timely. A lot of people were inspired and responded to the challenge Bill put out to actually get out there and impact our city, province, and the nation. I was talking to an American friend of mine about how we get a lot of American speakers coming to Canada to talk about revival but it's very rare to hear a Canadian speaker with the experience and anointing that Bill has. The fact that he is moving and shaking in Canada was pretty powerful. He also talked a lot about how Steve and Travis are heading to Cross Lake. It sounds like such an amazing opportunity and I can't wait to hear all about it!! Anyways, I just wanted to let you know that I'll be praying, along with the Resurgence community, for Steve and Travis as they head out. I'll be praying for you and your babies too, as Steve is away during this time.”

On Sunday morning, following another powerful service at Abundant Life Ministries, thirty to forty young adults from Resurgence joined me at the Legislative Buildings in downtown Edmonton, where we spoke life and blessing over the Province of Alberta.  Throughout the year, as I travel from sea to sea, I intend to visit as many provincial capitals as possible, to declare that Jesus is Lord in the land.  It is dark in Canada, but not too dark.  It is late but not too late.  There are many hurting people in our nation who have tried to find peace and happiness in all the wrong places.  Jesus is the answer, and I will keep declaring His love and power as long as I have breath.  Canada shall be saved!
